Moments
An undefined unit of time
Can be fleeting
Can feel eternal
In my series »Atmosphere of the Moment«, I explore the relationship between photography and painting and examine how memories can be made visually tangible.
The starting point of the works are photographs from my personal archive. In the creative process, a specific moment is recalled and interpreted through painting. Abstract forms and translucent layers of oil paint reflect the blurriness and fleetingness of memory. Realistic elements, drawn in ballpoint pen, create a concrete connection to the photograph and the actual moment captured. The result is a dynamic interplay between abstraction and photorealism.
